A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 1783 to
All Stars Arena.
Uwe Dollinger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Robert Ekendahl and
Bernhard Runk.
K.E.F. had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation.
Starters: Liepiņš - Driska, Krauklis, Bēduleja, Savochkin, Zemchenkov - Goldšteins, Vīgups, Cinis, Bobovich - Lecis.
A 3-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Linden115.
The following players took the field: Branda - Daaden, Muckelmann, Kalmbach - Daam, Knef, Brinkhoffs, Malsburg - Babelsberg, Dingden.
For their match strategy, Linden115 had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
K.E.F.'s
A. Lecis was shown a yellow card after 30 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Unfortunately for Linden115,
L. Daaden was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
H. Neunhäffer replaced him.
K.E.F.'s
A. Lecis refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 35 minutes.
37 minutes into the game, Linden115 had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
passable.
38 minutes into the game, Linden115 seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
39 minutes into the game, Linden115 seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
weak level of organisation.
With 40 minutes played,
R. Vīgups of K.E.F. fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 42 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
R. Zemchenkov, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of K.E.F. to 2 - 0 as
A. Goldšteins finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of K.E.F. lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
It was 2 - 0 at the break.
K.E.F. had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Linden115 was able to get his message across, and raised Linden115's organisation to
passable.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Linden115's
P. Daam somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
A. Dingden, who struck for 2 - 1.
A great save by keeper
J. Branda after 51 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
A. Goldšteins struck from the left with a real cannonball.
65 minutes in, Linden115 appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
A. Goldšteins made a quick rush after 70 minutes, but
P. Kalmbach had no problems keeping up the pace and stopped the attack.
After 74 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Linden115 found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
Linden115's
A. Dingden got himself booked for a foul.
K.E.F. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
E. Savochkin performed admirably for K.E.F..
M. Bēduleja on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Linden115's best player was
P. Daam.
P. Kalmbach turned in a dismal performance, however.
