previous 2/10 next 4/10  Cojones 4 - 0 Lazio (393324000)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 2467 that came out to FC Cojones Arena. Jarosław Cyngot was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mbeng Limbeng and Gustav Andreassen. Cojones decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Kołodziejak - Krätz, Frashëri, Hensel, Krajcsó - Allendorf, Di Gregorio, Jaworski, Gilley - Boute, Gruber.

Lazio had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Kubicz - Krzempek, Wyrwich, Trella - Targosz, Fornos, Grossen, García Richter, Płocha - Skaruz, Artyszuk.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Cojones. Lazio mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Lazio, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. M. Krajcsó knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 1 - 0 after 6 minutes. With 20 minutes played, Cojones put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to A. Gilley, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Lazio had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

After 49 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by D. Di Gregorio might have resulted in another goal for Cojones. However, A. Kubicz made a spectacular save. J. Grossen didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. U. Hensel squirmed through their central defence after 82 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. Cojones's D. Di Gregorio got himself booked for a foul. B. Boute stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Cojones the goal to make it 4 - 0. By now, the players in Cojones felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Lazio's M. Płocha was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 87 minutes. Lazio claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

R. Gruber performed admirably for Cojones. On the other hand, J. Kołodziejak's play was disheartening. Lazio's top performer was clearly J. Grossen. However, A. Kubicz made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 0.
