FCWIL broke through on the left 21 minutes into the game, with N. Nietlispach firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. FCWIL's B. Bachthaler left the field after 30 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was R. Rospatt. B. Göttler was the new captain of FCWIL - handed the armband by the departing player. GorghenseFC levelled the score after 31 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as H. Limor struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. GorghenseFC's I. Benassi managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 37 minutes. 1 - 2. B. Göttler seemed highly inexperienced when, after 40 minutes, he was caught dilly-dallying with the ball and allowed P. Bisi to intercept and strike home the goal for GorghenseFC to make the score 1 - 3. The home team's supporters got excited again when R. Rospatt broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 2 - 3. 42 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 2 - 4 as L. Tetlak finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After this, you could see that the players of GorghenseFC were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. S. Santoponte behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 43 minutes as he gave the ball away to D. Marçal. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 4. GorghenseFC had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Some fine movement on the left led to a GorghenseFC goal after 52 minutes, making it 2 - 5. H. Limor was noted down as the scorer. After 71 minutes, GorghenseFC raised their score by one when I. Benassi's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by H. Limor. 2 - 6. At that, H. Limor was noted down for a hat trick! GorghenseFC came close to extending their lead as S. Santoponte delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 74 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. L. Tetlak was, after 75 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper A. Kask made the save. With 76 minutes played, S. Amico of GorghenseFC fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. GorghenseFC had a magnificent opportunity after 78 minutes as F. Teotino hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. Possession in this half belonged to GorghenseFC, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
