Pressing was the tactic of the day for ALANIA. 6 minutes into the game, J. Háber had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came B. Pilar. The referee showed ALANIA's S. Heutz the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. E. Pražienka of JEY received a yellow card after 30 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 37 minutes JEY tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, A. Lehester's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. ALANIA's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. It was 0 - 0 at the break. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

M. Vázquez was called on to replace ALANIA's E. Rejtman after 60 minutes following a nasty collision. 80 minutes into the game, JEY wanted to bring some new energy to their game. H. Çıracı gave M. Goetegui a quick hug as he left the field. After 86 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as ALANIA found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to solid. Possession in this half belonged to JEY, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

Still tied after 90 minutes, the match continued into extra time. The ALANIA players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. As the 91 minute mark approached, the ALANIA coach decided it was time for a substitution. S. Zindros reluctantly made way for B. JEY's E. Pražienka penalty shot was very well placed but W. Tapajós went the right way, blocking it spectacularly. The score was still 0 - 0. ALANIA's W. Tapajós was relaxed as he smoothly put the ball in the net. 0 - 1! JEY's L. Gigolashvili looked like he knew exactly where he wanted to put the ball, but unfortunately his shot went wide of the left hand post. Still 0 - 1. ALANIA's D. Buys coolly put the ball past A. Ničić. 0 - 2. JEY's O. Kipiani didn't look like he was confident as he stepped up, and produced a badly struck penalty - right into the arms of W. Tapajós. The score remained 0 - 2. Clearly nervous from the start, ALANIA's B. Pilar took a long run up, but could only blast the ball over the bar. The score remains 0 - 2. JEY's M. Goetegui looked nervous even as he was putting the ball on the spot. He didn't take much of a run up, and his weak shot was easily saved by the keeper. ALANIA's M. Kappelt drove the ball hard to the corner but couldn't get it past the outstretched arm of A. Ničić. The score remains 0 - 2. JEY's R. Luparu made no mistake. W. Tapajós didn't have a chance. 1 - 2. ALANIA's B. Sokhadze kept his cool as he faced down A. Ničić. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 1 - 3. A. Ničić performed admirably for JEY. On the other hand, R. Luparu's play was disheartening. ALANIA's top performer was clearly M. Eskedal. B. Pilar turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
