Dark skies made the crowd of 1473 at Fuego azúl Park a little nervous, but the rain held off. Cédric Vignier was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Johann Gretschmann and Edvard Hansen. Fuego decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Lineup: Illés - Žeriav, Elez, Fehér, Hutter - Tököli, Cserhalmi, Zollner, Kozma - Mitošinka, Benke.

City started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Lajta - Passot, Pribojszki, Holloway - Sedlačík, Šimundža, Fanni, Olariu, Sharf - Callaert, Tabakman.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Fuego. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 9 minutes, City tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. M. Sharf of City received a yellow card after 11 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 0 - 1 was the score with 16 minutes played, after M. Sedlačík cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for City. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Z. Kozma got himself booked. The manager of Fuego was not happy. A. Holloway was, after 26 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper R. Illés made the save. With 27 minutes gone, R. Benke suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Fuego caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. After 33 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for P. Passot who increased City's lead to 0 - 2. After 35 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave J. Callaert a chance to increase the lead for City, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. The players of City now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to City, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Fuego's Z. Kozma was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. Z. Soós was given a chance to change things around. With 60 minutes played, the Fuego coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. K. Csurgó came on, Č. Mitošinka had to leave the fray. With the scoreboard showing that 74 minutes had been played, City nearly put themselves up another goal after J. Callaert came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. E. Fanni of City took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 80 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 4. City claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

Fuego's best player was R. Benke. However, K. Zollner made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating City player was without a doubt J. Callaert. G. Pribojszki turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
