465 spectators arrived at
WoW Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Chuah Tung Long was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Romică Olah and
Salvador Castrejón.
Bassago decided to use a 4-3-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Guillamas - Bikov, Cabello, Vamanu, Ferroso - Alacreu, Villabona, Salado - Feniello, Adıgüzel, Ockenhouse.
A 5-1-2 alignment was the formation of choice for JRs.
Starters: Bichler - Ubao, Văn Tân, Cerro, Derval, Scarciglia - Volinski - Monroy, Colunga.
For their match strategy, JRs had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
Bassago took the lead 7 minutes in, as
J. Ockenhouse broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
10 minutes into the game, JRs seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
poor.
M. Vamanu was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Bassago's
F. Salado managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 2 - 0
27 minutes into the game, Bassago seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
JRs earned themselves a free kick after a counterattack wasn't dealt with adequately by their opponents.
A. Ubao powered the shot in for 2 - 1.
2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Bassago claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Bassago was able to get his message across, and raised Bassago's organisation to
solid.
During the break, JRs's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
passable organisation.
Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as JRs's
F. Monroy put the ball in the onion bag after 47 minutes to make it 2 - 2.
F. Monroy stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving JRs the goal to make it 2 - 3.
With 67 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
A. Volinski of JRs to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 2 - 4.
The visitors'
A. Derval took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 77 minutes into the match. 2 - 5 for JRs.
78 minutes in, JRs appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
After 80 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Bassago found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
solid.
A. Villabona of Bassago was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
F. Monroy received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 85 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 2 - 6. The JRs fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
At that,
F. Monroy was noted down for a hat trick!
After this, you could see that the players of JRs were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
87 minutes into the game, Bassago had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
poor.
JRs enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
Most important Bassago player was
J. Ockenhouse.
S. Guillamas on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating JRs player was without a doubt
L. Cerro.
On the other hand,
R. Bichler's play was disheartening.
