previous 7/10 next 9/10  Fortuna 3 - 2 Dodók (393376621)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 1863 that came out to Fortuna-Park. Aymeric Ayrault was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jarkko Lehkonen and Carlos Miguel Belmiro. Fortuna tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players took the field: Billot - Bretzger, Seitl, Volprich, Ozores Rey - Stellingen, Tomi, Eğilmez, Stoffel - Viola, Giallanza.

Dodók had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Sándor - Hibbert, Gkomatos, Romanet - Huszta, Mónos, Sóvári, Brunst, Lelesz - Magyar, Pap.

Today, Dodók's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Fortuna's F. Stoffel somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for S. Viola, who struck for 1 - 0. Dodók were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. M. Pap finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 4 minutes into the match. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 33 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from H. Eğilmez, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Players in Dodók heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. J. Romanet made a run for the goal 34 minutes into the game but the home team's left back managed to sort the situation out in the end. The sun seemed to put J. Ozores Rey in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. J. Ozores Rey of Fortuna was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Dodók played a good counterattacking move down the left 44 minutes into the match, with B. Hibbert finishing well for 2 - 2. It was 2 - 2 at the break. Fortuna enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

As usual, S. Viola tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all. Dodók's S. Sóvári had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 79 minutes having been played. E. Lardera was the replacement. Fortuna had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. Fortuna had to make a substitution after 108 minutes. H. Stellingen limped off the field and was replaced by M. Klinworth. After 114 minutes, M. Tomi came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 3 - 2, giving Fortuna the lead. Game over, Fortuna win! Fortuna's top performer was clearly M. Klinworth. On the other hand, P. Seitl's play was disheartening. Dodók's best player was J. Romanet. K. Mónos was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
