(393389050)

18-07-2012 12.30
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 1795 at
calajuana today.
Nico Piets was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bodo Freiberg and
Emílio Cabral.
vizma had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
Lineup: Aliaga - Dagostino, Wotton, Traussnig, Langen, Gagliardini - Bernatallada, Rosado, Duany - Dazne, Mellups.
RapidC tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Drăgoi - Fărcaş, Coca, Ivaşcu, Kudryaev, Blaga - Prescott, Sas, Svensson, Wulff - Tessari.
vizma clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
RapidC's goal to make the score 0 - 1 came via a questionable penalty, but
L. Wulff struck it home without a second thought.
40 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
M. Svensson finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
A penalty was awarded after 41 minutes, and
L. Wulff made the most of his chance to put RapidC up by another goal. 0 - 3 for the visitors.
RapidC's
M. Coca was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 41 minutes.
It was 0 - 3 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to RapidC, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
R. Dagostino from vizma a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 52 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
What was
M. Svensson thinking? That's what everyone wondered when, for no apparent reason, he shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving
A. Mellups an extra chance, but unfortunately for vizma, he didn't get the shot right.
The referee showed RapidC's
G. Kudryaev the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Given a free kick close to the byline, RapidC tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
F. Sas slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 4, 89 minutes into the game.
Confident in their lead, RapidC's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
T. Wotton sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
P. Duany after 89 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 4.
vizma's
F. Bernatallada got himself booked for a foul.
T. Fărcaş of RapidC took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 89 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 5.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 89 minutes, RapidC did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
G. Ivaşcu was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 6.
With 89 minutes gone, RapidC's
M. Coca had to leave the pitch after talking back to the referee and receiving his second booking.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by RapidC, with 62 percent of the ball.
Most important vizma player was
S. Dazne.
R. Dagostino was a disappointment, however.
RapidC's best player was
C. Blaga.
L. Drăgoi on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 6.
