(393401052)

24-07-2012 19.00
The crowd of 44120 turning up at
Luigi Ferraris today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Knud-Erik Brandt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Orlando Michel and
Sylvain Andrieu.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Soccer.
The following players had been chosen: Montironi - Cascetta, Gonçalves Figueiredo, Scott - Viniambres, Arestia, Assini, Rovandi, Castellana - Walas, Kalaba.
LIBRE had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Matys - Sala O'Shea, Giacomello, Natalicchio - Arte, Agacki, Grossmann, Skřivánek, Aulí - Giglitto, Stjärnby.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 10 minutes into the match, and
S. Giglitto wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
N. Kalaba was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
The crowd roared in delight as
P. Assini finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Soccer 13 minutes into the match. 1 - 1.
The terraces were silenced after 23 minutes when LIBRE's
A. Stjärnby put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
LIBRE had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
LIBRE increased their lead after 64 minutes when
R. Aulí broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
After this, you could see that the players of LIBRE were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
The coach of LIBRE was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 65 minutes,
R. Sender came on for
A. Stjärnby.
65 minutes in, LIBRE's
T. Skřivánek received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Soccer supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to
N. Kalaba who reduced the visitors' lead after 72 minutes to 2 - 3.
Soccer needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 76 minutes
D. Castellana made way for
R. Vatiero.
The home crowd was not impressed when
C. Grossmann came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 79 minutes. LIBRE were now up 2 - 4.
LIBRE's
R. Aulí was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 80 minutes.
After 81 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
J. Sala O'Shea to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 2 - 5.
E. Agacki increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 2 - 6.
LIBRE enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Soccer's top performer was clearly
N. Kalaba.
On the other hand,
R. Vatiero's play was disheartening.
The most dominating LIBRE player was without a doubt
S. Natalicchio.
However,
R. Sender made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 6.
