Gozzila 2 - 1 Pozerji
(393401986)

24-07-2012 19.30
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 60000 had shown up at
FC Gozzila Arena for the match.
Roshan Godharvi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Emil Knudsen and
Stipe Frankovic.
Gozzila decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Rivaben - van Bruchem, Štoos, Butt, Guiñazo - Ornaghi, Pimenta, Undzēns, Grochowski - Kalkounos, Oom.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Pozerji.
Starters: Pravica - Wang, Deneke - Smrdelj, Pucko, Brljak, Sobočan, Milanovic - Špiletič, Pezderc, Binz.
Down the middle came
T. Smrdelj, making a fantastic play that nearly had Pozerji take the lead after 7 minutes, but
C. Rivaben preserved the tie.
Many thought
C. Guiñazo ought to have been awarded a penalty 15 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
T. Pravica after a determined run through the middle.
20 minutes into the game,
M. Binz almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Halftime score was 0 - 0.
Possession was split evenly between the teams.
The suddenness of the Gozzila's
J. Grochowski's pass to
G. Oom after 50 minutes caught the opposition wrong-footed, and they could only watch as the ball sailed home for 1 - 0.
L. Pezderc made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner.
After 59 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
J. Pimenta might have resulted in another goal for Gozzila. However,
T. Pravica made a spectacular save.
Ž. Pucko sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
H. Deneke after 72 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 1.
What was
M. Štoos thinking? That's what everyone wondered when, for no apparent reason, he shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving
G. Milanovic an extra chance, but unfortunately for Pozerji, he didn't get the shot right.
Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.
As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
P. Butt, but the Gozzila player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1!
This put an end to extra time, making Gozzila the winners.
Most important Gozzila player was
E. Kalkounos.
C. Rivaben was a disappointment, however.
Pozerji's top performer was clearly
Ž. Pucko.
However,
G. Milanovic made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 1.
