25-07-2012 13.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 54502 that came out to
Bondte's Beer Palace.
Jeremy René Halpaap was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Frodo te Riele and
Zefiro Merico.
Bondtes started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Lineup: Glovenský - Salinas, van Dulmen, François, Lagrou - Bremmer, Verspecht, Willaert, Charon - Charkawi, Dubernet.
SCHUDDERTJES had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: De Wachter - Delfosse, Delbart, Wauquier - Peelman, Bartholomeus, Lyssens, Pirlot, Carrano - Balaji, Huyghe.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Bondtes.
I. Peelman acted with superior experience when, 10 minutes into the match, he predicted a pass, intercepted it and then finished off with a goal. 0 - 1 for SCHUDDERTJES!
Bondtes's
M. Bremmer made a successful breakthrough on the left after 24 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
E. Delfosse was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 35 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
The counterattacks of Bondtes were deadly and 36 minutes into the game,
C. Charon received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 1 - 1.
Bondtes had a chance to take the lead after
A. Charkawi's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 42 minutes.
1 - 1 was the score after the first half.
SCHUDDERTJES claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.
Bondtes's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing
J. Dubernet to score easily from the right flank for 2 - 1.
M. Bremmer of Bondtes received a yellow card after 68 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
The visitors didn't give in and, after 69 minutes,
E. Delfosse got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 2 - 2.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
M. Bremmer found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
SCHUDDERTJES enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.
Still tied after 90 minutes, the match continued into extra time.
After 95 minutes, Bondtes's
C. Charon swiftly ran past
E. Delfosse and nutmegged the keeper! 3 - 2.
This put an end to extra time, making Bondtes the winners.
Bondtes's top performer was clearly
M. Bremmer.
C. Charon was a disappointment, however.
SCHUDDERTJES's best player was
G. Huyghe.
On the other hand,
I. Peelman's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 2.
