previous 3/10 next 5/10  MKL75 3 - 2 Kamieļi (393414651)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 59435 to KUIVIŽI. Nick Cione was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Martin Ahlgård and Thomas Stickling. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for MKL75. The following players had been chosen: Koch - Scharfenberg, Sartasov, Johnson - Graffi, Kazemian, Chipende, Mérei, Stenblom - Schmid-Hauser, Günberk.

Kamieļi decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players took the field: Dugalitsch - Batasov, Gavars, Tselousov, Tauriņš - Olivi, Gaganov, Sējējs, Turbelmans, Bogun - Øen.

After 11 minutes, A. Schmid-Hauser sent the corner kick right to B. Scharfenberg who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 0! T. Mérei could have increased the lead after 28 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. 35 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as S. Sartasov broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for MKL75. By now, the players in MKL75 felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. MKL75's A. Schmid-Hauser was shown a yellow card after 40 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Kamieļi, as G. Bogun left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. N. Verreck took his place on the field. 43 minutes into the game, J. Gavars finished off a Kamieļi left wing counterattack, making the score 2 - 1. MKL75's T. Mérei refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 43 minutes. Halftime score was 2 - 1. MKL75 claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

Kamieļi needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 65 minutes G. Tselousov made way for D. Lecoq. The Kamieļi coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. It was a fine day for N. Verreck on his wing, his cross pass to D. Lecoq was especially delicate 73 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. 74 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 2 - 2 as D. Lecoq struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 80 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by A. Koch. MKL75 broke through on the left 84 minutes into the game, with A. Schmid-Hauser firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead. MKL75 had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

MKL75's top performer was clearly T. Mérei. B. Scharfenberg on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Kamieļi player was S. Sējējs. However, N. Verreck made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
