previous 9/10 next 1/10  Azzurrini 2 - 3 Scarpari (393420849)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 105 that came out to San Paolo. Mauro De Angeli was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Vito Cominelli and Augustus de Geer. Azzurrini started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Trippodo - Franchetto, Faccilongo, Ābrams, Juranich - Majer, Cucca, Segala, Bravo - Kafri, Kizlink.

Scarpari tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Aschieris - Custo, Pellizzon, Gaita, Prunotto - Ilardi, Casamassima, Gnudi, Aufmuth - Monari, Argomenni.

Azzurrini were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. After 2 minutes, Scarpari's E. Prunotto made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. With 8 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Argomenni of Scarpari to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. 15 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as L. Monari finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After this, you could see that the players of Scarpari were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Azzurrini's opponents know to be wary of P. Bravo's speed, but it made little difference as he flew past the defence 16 minutes into the game. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive! D. Cucca tried to get a goal back for Azzurrini but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. Scarpari's M. Pellizzon was shown a yellow card after 27 minutes for slicing down an opponent. With the scoreboard showing that 31 minutes had been played, Scarpari nearly put themselves up another goal after A. Argomenni came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Scarpari had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Azzurrini manager used a brief break in play after 55 minutes to give the players new directives. After 69 minutes of game time, M. Pellizzon had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but A. Trippodo was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. E. Faccilongo's lack of experience almost gave Scarpari a goal after 71 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. As usual, L. Monari tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Azzurrini, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. 75 minutes into the match, Azzurrini's A. Kizlink collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 1 - 3. The bench was restless, and with 76 minutes passed Azzurrini's coach gave G. Arcelin the opportunity the player had been hoping for. G. Kafri reluctantly left the field. After 79 minutes A. Kizlink could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Azzurrini's P. Segala was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 80 minutes. 施. 北一 (Beiyi) was given a chance to change things around. The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs T. Majer found it hard to get back into position. Azzurrini had a brilliant opportunity to reply as D. Cucca received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only D. Aschieris's reflexes saved him. Scarpari's C. Custo left the field after 84 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Q. Pupolin. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as A. Kizlink tried lifting the ball over keeper D. Aschieris. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. Azzurrini supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to D. Cucca who reduced the visitors' lead after 87 minutes to 2 - 3. 88 minutes in, Scarpari's N. Gnudi received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Azzurrini were forced into a substitution as A. Kizlink couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing G. Carrano to come in off the bench. Possession in this half belonged to Scarpari, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

G. Carrano performed admirably for Azzurrini. However, R. Ābrams made a disastrous appearance. Most important Scarpari player was A. Argomenni. D. Aschieris on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 3.
