Dark skies made the crowd of 38000 at Infrared Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Julius Mrázek was the appointed referee. Infravermelho had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. After 3 minutes, Tricolor put themselves up 0 - 1, as N. Erstrand finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. After 11 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed N. Erstrand to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. 14 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as I. Pfeilitzer finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Tricolor lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. After 16 minutes, Infravermelho's M. Kolas fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! C. Aarø kept the home side in the game with a magnificent save when L. Cosma delivered an almost perfect free kick to the far post. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tricolor, with 59 percent of the ball.

T. Dicle came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over C. Aarø but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. M. Kolas did everything he could to get one back for his Infravermelho, but keeper R. Schipani denied him with a spectacular block. Infravermelho's W. Kerck got himself booked for a foul. C. Paracatu challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 67 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. 79 minutes into the match, J. Bečák came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. 82 minutes in, Infravermelho's A. Demos received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Tricolor had to make a substitution after 83 minutes. A. Cristina limped off the field and was replaced by C. De Grande. After 85 minutes, N. Gottlieb had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Infravermelho with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Tricolor had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

Infravermelho's top performer was clearly J. Ortiz. On the other hand, N. Gottlieb's play was disheartening. Most important Tricolor player was N. Erstrand. However, C. De Grande made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 3.
