J-Strings 3 - 4 Mulberries (393425035)

Dark skies made the crowd of 57000 at Franklin Park a little nervous, but the rain held off. Enrique Zuluaga was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Fernandas Vygracas and Anastazy Seifert. J-Strings had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Freyre - Biran, Ducharme, Wolf - Khromchenkov, Kendall, Shanks, Stubbs, Dykiert - Kızılbey, Barbanti.

Mulberries started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. They fielded: De Vreese - Serrand, Lindhland, Dávila - Mckee, Juárez, Breen, Boccacin - Raad, Al-Harbi, Radford.

J-Strings's G. Barbanti was shown a yellow card after 27 minutes for slicing down an opponent. T. Khromchenkov caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 31 minutes. This gave J-Strings the 1 - 0 lead. A cross coming in on the right hand side left K. Mckee alone in front of the goal after 36 minutes but his shot was woeful. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Mulberries had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Mulberries manager used a brief break in play after 46 minutes to give the players new directives. The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Mulberries's coach gave A. Abdullah the opportunity the player had been hoping for. O. Serrand reluctantly left the field. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Mulberries's M. Lindhland was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. J. Westenborg was given a chance to change things around. With 46 minutes played, the Mulberries coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. J. Spangler came on, A. Al-Harbi had to leave the fray. After 47 minutes, G. Barbanti put J-Strings ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. J. Spangler sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from A. Abdullah after 48 minutes of play, making the score 2 - 1. The visitors' J. Spangler was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 2 - 2 after 57 minutes. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, G. Barbanti scored for J-Strings putting them ahead 3 - 2, after 62 minutes. The crowd was silenced 70 minutes into the match as the visiting team's J. Westenborg came in from the left, levelling the score to 3 - 3. J. Raad's speed was clear to see after 76 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released S. Radford who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 3 - 4. J. Juárez was, after 78 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper R. Freyre made the save. 80 minutes in, J-Strings's H. Stubbs received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. There was no way Mulberries's S. Boccacin could continue to play after this, and no replacements were available! Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mulberries, with 53 percent of the ball.

J-Strings's best player was İ. Kızılbey. M. Wolf on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Mulberries player was J. Spangler. A. Abdullah was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 4.
