previous 5/10 next 7/10  Minoma 4 - 2 Guajiro (393437017)

Dark skies made the crowd of 4264 at Minoma Stadium a little nervous, but the rain held off. Lars Håkansson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jérôme Fournier and António Sabino. Minoma decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. Lineup: Fern - Švácha, Martínek, Juřička, Kos, Severa - Poláček, Zdráhal, Markvart, Valášek - Lelek.

Guajiro had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Jaramillo - Salerno, Álvarez, Rodríguez - Vera, Sáenz, Gálvez, Castro, Ahmed - Barrios, Valderrama.

With 18 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, C. Gálvez needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Guajiro's C. Castro after 23 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. A. Vera of Guajiro was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Due to some great work on the right wing Minoma's V. Švácha was able to even the score after 33 minutes to make the score 1 - 1. After 37 minutes of play, K. Zdráhal gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Minoma enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

In an effort to secure the lead, Minoma changed their tactic after 46 minutes. Guajiro's A. Barrios was shown a yellow card after 54 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Minoma put themselves up 3 - 1 when L. Markvart broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. 62 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as A. Vera anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 3 - 2. Minoma's L. Lelek got himself booked for a foul. Guajiro's C. Castro went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. After 73 minutes, E. Poláček put Minoma ahead 4 - 2 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Z. Juřička should probably have put his team up another goal after 74 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by D. Jaramillo kept the visitors in the game. After 75 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by I. Severa might have resulted in another goal for Minoma. However, D. Jaramillo made a spectacular save. Possession in this half belonged to Minoma, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

The most dominating Minoma player was without a doubt J. Valášek. However, D. Fern made a disastrous appearance. Guajiro's best player was A. Barrios. On the other hand, E. Sáenz's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 2.
