previous 6/10 next 8/10  Cabroski 0 - 3 Thomassen (393439508)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 3563 had shown up at Cabroski Arena for the match. Jan Benito was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Semen Antoshkin and Matti Turpela. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Cabroski. They fielded: Nederlof - Nicoletti, Schneyder, Polkowski, Horcasitas, Braghini - Houmøller, Rieto, Szegő - ten Hove, Crupi.

Thomassen decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Fogh Andersen - Pelissier, Jensen, Keinicke - Kreutzfeld, Uggerholm, Blach, Hansson, Høy - Grønholdt, Ampar.

1 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Cabroski substitution. D. Ameli came on for T. ten Hove. After 20 minutes Cabroski's I. Nederlof contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. 32 minutes in, Cabroski appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. U. Blach finished off the counterattack of Thomassen from the left rather easily, making the score 0 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Cabroski claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

The Cabroski players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. With 55 minutes played, U. Blach nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. T. Grønholdt of Thomassen took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 61 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. G. Høy hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Thomassen's R. Keinicke an easy chance to knock it in for 0 - 3. 86 minutes in, Cabroski's B. Crupi received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. C. Pelissier of Thomassen was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Possession in this half belonged to Cabroski, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

Most important Cabroski player was A. Rieto. D. Ameli on the other hand, had a terrible day. J. Ampar performed admirably for Thomassen. J. Hansson turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
