previous 5/10 next 7/10  Sarlangas 0 - 4 Pony (393446744)

A scorching day at Dr Sarlanga, where 3480 spectators were in place for today's match. Marko Noopila was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Domenic Baldorf and Alex Ciorbea. Sarlangas decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. They fielded: Govers - Camargo, Curu, Giorgione, Gillind - Lincoln, Cheramy, Linder, Loveček, Reyes - Cañete.

A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Pony. Lineup: Dorca - Lepel, Atanasov, Semenov, Dye, Malhan - Bibarcz, Ranković, Hatton - Gardie, Kurzyński.

The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Pony's B. Atanasov after 25 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. Z. Bibarcz increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. Some fine movement on the left led to a Pony goal after 33 minutes, making it 0 - 3. J. Hatton was noted down as the scorer. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. Pony enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

After 49 minutes, Sarlangas's L. Loveček fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave D. Lincoln from Sarlangas a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 53 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! With the scoreboard showing that 73 minutes had been played, Pony nearly put themselves up another goal after S. Ranković came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Pony's S. Malhan had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 75 minutes having been played. A. Rainis was the replacement. Pony's C. Gardie finished emphatically to make the score 0 -4 after 76 minutes, after the enigmatic R. Dye pulled a delightful long pass from his box of tricks to bypass the defence. After this, you could see that the players of Pony were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. L. Loveček enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again. With 86 minutes played, S. Giorgione of Sarlangas fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Pony claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Most important Sarlangas player was L. Loveček. C. Linder turned in a dismal performance, however. S. Ranković performed admirably for Pony. R. Dye on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 4.
