MiLo 3 - 0 CERT (393466928)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 2057 had shown up at MiLocou Arena for the match. Elroy Benson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eugenio Ringhio and Menno Gijsberts. MiLo decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. Starters: Nicolescu - Arozena, Príncipe, Caballero, Niesyto - Poindexter, Lanssens, MacKern, Falace, Çağkan - Do Sil.

CERT had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. They fielded: Manning - Küpper, Vázquez, Pence, Kaubert, Pypeć - Rodríguez Soto, McGee, Legarreta - Pinto, Şimen.

CERT were relying on their ability to counter-attack. After 9 minutes CERT's D. Pypeć contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. L. Kaubert of CERT received a yellow card after 15 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. MiLo took the lead 16 minutes into the match after a magnificent free kick by C. Príncipe that made the score 1 - 0. M. Küpper of CERT was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. MiLo were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 27 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by C. Príncipe. 2 - 0 for the home side. By now, the players in MiLo felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. M. Falace dispatched a majestic long shot 35 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. After 38 minutes MiLo's Z. Do Sil limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. MiLo had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.

The head of A. Çağkan connected with a corner kick after 74 minutes, and the ball ended up with Z. Do Sil of MiLo who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 3 - 0. MiLo put in a good effort on the right, but R. Arozena saw his volley fly wide of the mark 79 minutes into the game. With 80 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of CERT resulted in a counterattack that set D. Vázquez free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. MiLo's A. Lanssens swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. CERT's counterattack was impressive and was only stopped by a shocking foul. Somehow, the referee's cards remained in his pocket - a terrible decision! D. Vázquez's resulting free kick was easily saved by the keeper. A great save by keeper R. Manning after 84 minutes kept the visitors in the game after R. Arozena struck from the left with a real cannonball. CERT almost scored after a counterattack 85 minutes into the match, but Á. Pinto took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. 87 minutes in, MiLo's Z. Do Sil received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. MiLo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 80 percent.

MiLo's top performer was clearly Z. Do Sil. V. Nicolescu was a disappointment, however. M. Pence performed admirably for CERT. E. McGee turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
