(393480781)

25-07-2012 05.00
A scorching day at
Wacky World, where 2337 spectators were in place for today's match.
Pedro Silva was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Troels Sand and
Soriano Agüera.
Plue decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Starters: Voluckis - Farnell, Ağca, Tollerud - Andersen, Telescu, Brandi, Jelenić - Ibrahim, Azri, Rahman.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for TORONTO.
Lineup: Vardakas - Reismann, Theodoropoulos, Siagris, Fornitis - Hintsa, Kostopoulos, Adamantakis, Luisi - Volmut, Tiron.
The referee showed TORONTO's
R. Reismann the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
C. Tollerud, but the Plue player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
17 minutes into the game, TORONTO had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
passable.
A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by
I. Tiron. At last, TORONTO's
P. Kostopoulos was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 1.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
P. Kostopoulos slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
T. Voluckis, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
31 minutes into the game, TORONTO seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
Plue enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
The TORONTO players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
The guests took the lead 59 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
R. Reismann scoring to make it 1 - 2.
With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 70 minutes played,
M. Farnell of Plue made the score 2 - 2.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of TORONTO's
I. Tiron after 75 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 2 - 3 lead.
F. Siagris of TORONTO seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 4 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
C. Fornitis.
The sun seemed to put
T. Adamantakis in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
A penalty kick was awarded to Plue 83 minutes into the match, and
S. Azri expertly put it away. 3 - 4.
Plue claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
Plue's best player was
I. Jelenić.
S. Azri on the other hand, had a terrible day.
TORONTO's top performer was clearly
S. Hintsa.
M. Volmut turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 4.
