Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 1429 to
saderat roz.
Martin Andreasson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Artemio Cortazar and
Abou Berden.
SORKH decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Lineup: Algreen - Fakhireh, Khodamoradi, Hosseinipajouh - Kashi, Picot, Landais, Baur - Stenfeldt, Amirzadegan, Iran Manesh.
Chonguito tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Bockelmann - Amatschek, Zeevi, Casasbuenas, Mudrić, Capablanca - Lamarre, Solivellas, Daguerre, Minicozzi - Duarte.
For their match strategy, SORKH had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
Chonguito clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
After 25 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Chonguito found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
passable.
The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 26 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. SORKH fans erupted in celebration as
J. Landais rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0!
The referee showed SORKH's
U. Stenfeldt the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
33 minutes into the game, SORKH had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
passable.
36 minutes in, SORKH appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
Perseverence paid off for Chonguito, as their
L. Duarte equalised making it 1 - 1 with a fabulous free kick.
42 minutes into the game, Chonguito seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
passable.
Chonguito took the lead after 44 minutes making the score 1 - 2.
A. Daguerre placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
Chonguito enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
The SORKH players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Chonguito had
solid organisation.
As the game started to slip away for SORKH, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
SORKH needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 55 minutes
S. Amirzadegan made way for
J. Akker.
V. Mudrić increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 3.
81 minutes into the game, Chonguito seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
solid level of organisation.
The home crowd cheered when, after 83 minutes,
A. Casasbuenas's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
SORKH's counterattacks created a good chance for
S. Iran Manesh on the right after 84 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar.
The local team's free kick specialist
J. Landais, reduced the away team's lead to 2 - 3 with a humdinger of a shot after 87 minutes.
With 88 minutes having been played, SORKH scored to make it 3 - 3. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but
J. Akker was marked down as the scorer.
The home keeper expected a move to the right, but
L. Duarte surprised him with a free kick aimed the other way 89 minutes into the match. 3 - 4 for Chonguito.
Possession in this half belonged to Chonguito, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
SORKH's best player was
J. Akker.
However,
B. Kashi made a disastrous appearance.
Most important Chonguito player was
M. Minicozzi.
W. Capablanca was a disappointment, however.
