previous 8/10 next 10/10  Windson 4 - 0 Fruchtwassercowboys (393506518)

1959 spectators had come to Dynamite Valley this cloudy day. Anders Solstrand was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hartmut Kronenberg and Matti Halmetoja. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Windson. The following players had been chosen: Nereng - Platts, Lockyer, Brunt - Yu, Williams, Nandini, Hatton, Johnstone - Grumley, Knowles.

Fruchtwassercowboys tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Huelqui - Freischläger, Korthals, Muhs - Tattenbach, Andreae, Kieperbusch, Remseck, Socher - Schoefboeck, Jaehring.

Windson clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Fruchtwassercowboys clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. The corner kick from A. Hatton was powerfully met by the head of L. Lockyer to make the score 1 - 0. Windson were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 26 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by A. Hatton. 2 - 0 for the home side. With 29 minutes played, Windson put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to A. Hatton, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, N. Knowles got himself booked. The manager of Windson was not happy. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Windson had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

A. Hatton struck a 30 metre free kick home 47 minutes into the match. 4 - 0 for the home team. By then A. Hatton had scored three goals - a hat trick! After 56 minutes, Windson were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. L. Johnstone did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. As M. Muhs had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Fruchtwassercowboys player a red card without batting an eyelid. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Fruchtwassercowboys, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Windson enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

Windson's best player was A. Hatton. L. Lockyer turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Fruchtwassercowboys player was without a doubt R. Kieperbusch. K. Freischläger was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
