The 3542 fans in attendance at Saulo Madrid were roasting in the hot sun. Valter Mallegni was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Miika Kaivosoja and Ravid Azrieli. Desamparado clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. F.V were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, M. Zabala got himself booked. The manager of Desamparado was not happy. The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 19 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by Ó. Cendegui. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to R. Pérez de Lucas, but the Desamparado player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! After 23 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by F.V on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by Y. Goren to make it 1 - 1. F.V had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. With 28 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. D. Agresta put the ball away for 1 - 2. Desamparado put pressure on the visitors' central defence 30 minutes into the game, but M. Zabala couldn't find an opening. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Desamparado enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

J. Feo of Desamparado received a yellow card after 58 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 70 minutes in, and Desamparado were able to score the equalising goal to make it 2 - 2 when C. Echeberría picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. J. Feo remonstrated furiously with the referee after Desamparado had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch. R. Pérez de Lucas wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave F.V the lead 84 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall. M. Soltani Javid of F.V was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. F.V had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 87 minutes in when C. Eneby came up alone against Ó. Cendegui who managed a block. Desamparado took the lead after 87 minutes as a result of F. Ehnlund's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 3 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Desamparado, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

Most important Desamparado player was M. Mičian. On the other hand, D. Mihăilescu's play was disheartening. M. Soltani Javid performed admirably for F.V. P. Švenda turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
