Clear skies welcomed the 2322 spectators who had made their way to Arena FC Leones 1974. Teodoro Bürlimann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Nejc Dvorančič and Martin Ahlgård. FCL started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Dell'Amura - Stadtrand, Morgen, Atamer - Tourné, Mastropietro, Oflaz, Whitten, Dorne - Savouridis, Vrisekoop.

A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for BENTOM. They fielded: Rosendahl - Păiuş, Ehrukainen, Dubielak, Eßer, Jenaru - Iorga, Cărbunaru, Iorgus, Boulescu - Unguruşan.

The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to F. Vrisekoop, but the FCL player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 24 minutes, FCL did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, C. Dorne was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 0. FCL had to make a substitution after 39 minutes. F. Oflaz limped off the field and was replaced by G. Zamora. Halftime score was 2 - 0. FCL claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.

With 47 minutes played, F. Vrisekoop could have brought this one home for FCL as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. I. Whitten of FCL was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. BENTOM's M. Eßer showed off his trademark ability to do the unexpected with a tricky pass after 68 minutes. Unfortunately, L. Boulescu was startled by the play and wasn't able to control the finish. J. Dubielak had a lethal looking free kick that grazed the post after 71 minutes. 72 minutes into the game, J. Stadtrand had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came F. Zarbo. Cheers filled the stadium as M. Mastropietro broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to FCL. By now, the players in FCL felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. FCL enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.

FCL's best player was M. Mastropietro. F. Zarbo was a disappointment, however. The most dominating BENTOM player was without a doubt M. Păiuş. On the other hand, I. Iorgus's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 0.
