It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 3022 that came out to
Junn0vi areena!!.
Odd Andersen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alexander Strohmaier and
Victor Chirilã.
Reix had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Simon - Fratoni, Auvray, Magyar - Albutt, Price, Jaskólski, Bánffy, Zoro - Dürrschmidt, Vinnal.
A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for scrapyard.
The following players had been chosen: Bijker - Prent, Baan, Espina, Pos, Wis - Fumagalli, Iwanowski, de la Riva, Matei - Punpak.
Reix took the lead after 2 minutes as a result of
Z. Magyar's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Reix to 2 - 0 as
Z. Magyar finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 21 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Reix's
Z. Magyar to one side and produced a red card for the player.
Unfortunately for scrapyard,
F. Iwanowski was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
P. Van Lijsebeth replaced him.
36 minutes into the match
C. Fratoni put Reix ahead 3 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Reix lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0.
Possession in this half belonged to Reix, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.
As usual,
V. Matei tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all.
E. Albutt could have put Reix up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 53 minutes.
The sun seemed to put
G. Auvray in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
Reix's
W. Price had an excellent opportunity after 64 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
69 minutes into the game,
C. Fratoni had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
C. Darder.
71 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
E. Albutt broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Reix.
Reix claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
Reix's best player was
H. Vinnal.
On the other hand,
G. Auvray's play was disheartening.
D. Punpak performed admirably for scrapyard.
S. de la Riva was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 0.
