24-07-2012 19.20
A scorching day at
Peanuts Arena, where 1297 spectators were in place for today's match.
Gijsbert Veen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Massimo Corazzari and
Patrik Ghini.
A 4-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Charlie.
The following players took the field: Morant - Garbati, Draeger, Passarelli, Costa - Vertemati, Tibi, Gazzana, Roveda - Galeno.
Tempelfelder decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Sennesael - Kruschwitz, Gonda, Boni - Hartinger, Fahrner, Hofschneider, Voetter, Dautzenberg - Hopkins, Herla.
Charlie's
O. Garbati refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 13 minutes.
Tempelfelder's
H. Hofschneider gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 16 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
After 20 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
R. Gonda who increased Tempelfelder's lead to 0 - 2.
Tempelfelder's
H. Fahrner got himself booked for a foul.
28 minutes into the game, Charlie seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
weak.
After 31 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
S. Hopkins a chance to increase the lead for Tempelfelder, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3.
With 37 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
H. Fahrner needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
With 38 minutes played,
H. Hofschneider nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
H. Dautzenberg was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Tempelfelder's
L. Kruschwitz managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 4
43 minutes in, Tempelfelder's
H. Dautzenberg received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
It was 0 - 4 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tempelfelder, with 73 percent of the ball.
A review of the gameplan helped Charlie get back to a
passable organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
The visitors'
H. Hofschneider took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 49 minutes into the match. 0 - 5 for Tempelfelder.
56 minutes into the game, Charlie had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
K. Herla could have put his team up another goal 67 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.
As usual,
H. Hofschneider tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all.
After 79 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Charlie found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
Tempelfelder had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.
Charlie's top performer was clearly
O. Garbati.
However,
E. Morant made a disastrous appearance.
Tempelfelder's best player was
S. Hopkins.
J. Boni was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 5.
