Clear skies welcomed the 3041 spectators who had made their way to Headstones Arena. Ivar Johansen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tomasz Zarzeczny and Aksel Thorhauge. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for HardcoreSV. International tried to focus their attacks down the middle. J. Eigner had a good try after 11 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. After 25 minutes L. Nezerka made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to F. Janisch who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 1 - 0. G. Bachert finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 37 minutes into the match. F. Brunnbauer showed his inexperience when he failed to anticipate the bounce of a high ball, allowing International's J. Eigner to take advantage and place a shot into the bottom corner of the goal. 1 - 2. HardcoreSV's F. Dresseln was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 44 minutes. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to International, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

International were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 47 minutes, International's G. Bachert burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. By now, the players in International felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. R. Pierstdorf increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 4. After 80 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave C. Campomagnani a chance to increase the lead for International, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 5. International claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

The most dominating HardcoreSV player was without a doubt T. Viertl. M. Gunzelmann was a disappointment, however. International's top performer was clearly J. Eigner. On the other hand, A. Muller's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 5.
