Dark skies made the crowd of 2700 at Goofy IF Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Joakim Kihllind was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ton Dopfer and Alessandro Curi. Goofy decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Søltoft - Haugaard, Rosenkilde, Anderson - Lauritzen, Christiansen, Gil, Nørlund, Rasborg - Knudsen, Enevold.

ECFC started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: Orovitz - Still, Worley, White, Büeler - Enzerink, Smallridge, Brown, Foucault - Fitch, Richter.

Goofy clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. ECFC used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Goofy's S. Rosenkilde got himself booked for a foul. Goofy had a chance to take the lead after V. Knudsen's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 33 minutes. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to J. Gil, but the Goofy player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! ECFC's N. Worley was shown a yellow card after 39 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The home side's J. Gil came close to extending the lead 40 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but P. Orovitz managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Goofy had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

61 minutes in, ECFC's T. Foucault received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Goofy players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. T. Lauritzen had a fantastic opportunity to put Goofy up another goal 64 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Goofy's E. Anderson increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. T. Lauritzen squirmed through their central defence after 75 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. N. Worley remonstrated furiously with the referee after ECFC had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch. M. Enevold left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. S. Sikveland was the replacement. T. Christiansen wanted to play on, but the Goofy coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 80 minutes into the game by E. Falkenberg. The coach of Goofy was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 80 minutes, M. Callesen came on for P. Haugaard. Goofy enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

J. Gil performed admirably for Goofy. On the other hand, J. Rasborg's play was disheartening. The most dominating ECFC player was without a doubt P. Orovitz. D. White turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
