With 36 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Cardiff resulted in a counterattack that set R. Hannah free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. Cardiff's C. Szelągowski had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 41 minutes having been played. M. Mason was the replacement. Hilera lived up to his reputation for finding unexpected ways to get the ball in the net when he sent a nifty little pass over to I. Bjørklund who finished for 0 - 4 with 65 minutes of the match played. Some fine movement on the left led to a Wegian goal after 66 minutes, making it 0 - 5. K. Hellenes was noted down as the scorer. After this, you could see that the players of Wegian were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. With 78 minutes played, Wegian put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was K. Strand. S. Flynn of Cardiff received a yellow card after 80 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Possession in this half belonged to Wegian, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.
