Clear skies welcomed the 1983 spectators who had made their way to Vālodzes Laivinieku Šķūnis. Rasmus Svendsen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per Ramström and Gian Luca Fortis. Today, Laivinieki's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. The goal to make it 0 - 1 was scored by F. Dundurs after 16 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by EA-united. A drive down the left side allowed V. Amstutz to get in close and score another goal for EA-united after 21 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. Laivinieki had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. With 29 minutes played, I. Bemanis nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. After the ball was lifted in from the left, I. Bemanis was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 33 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Halftime score was 0 - 2. EA-united claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

H. Dürsch charged down the left and looked sure to score for Laivinieki 48 minutes into the game, but his shot went just wide. R. Zvejnieks neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to O. Prourzin who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post. After 58 minutes, EA-united's K. Almanis burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, EA-united's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 66 minutes played, EA-united's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to I. Bemanis he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 4. EA-united's J. Martinsons was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 69 minutes. 72 minutes in, EA-united's Z. Florczyk received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Possession in this half belonged to EA-united, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

Laivinieki's best player was J. Borges. A. Banchelli was a disappointment, however. EA-united's top performer was clearly Z. Florczyk. D. Gagars turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
