Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Modri Bananovec saw a crowd turnout of 49000. Israel Ortuño García was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Antonio Scagliarini and Erik Carlsson. Banana had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Banana were relying on their ability to counter-attack. The corner kick from H. Ergazi was powerfully met by the head of L. Rubio López to make the score 0 - 1. After 13 minutes, Zvezda's L. Scherk burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. By now, the players in Zvezda felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The home crowd was not impressed when H. Ergazi came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 23 minutes. Zvezda were now up 0 - 3. D. Mërtiri wanted to play on, but the Zvezda coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 24 minutes into the game by D. Mušič. The referee showed Banana's M. Smonker the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The home keeper was stunned 37 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by H. Ergazi and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 4. With 39 minutes gone, Banana's M. Smonker had to leave the pitch after talking back to the referee and receiving his second booking. After the ball was lifted in from the left, L. Rubio López was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 40 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Zvezda's P. Hansson had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 41 minutes having been played. R. Mulhoff was the replacement. After 42 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed H. Ergazi to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5. At that, H. Ergazi was noted down for a hat trick! 0 - 5 was the score after the first half. Zvezda enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 75 percent of possession.

H. Mauthner left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. L. Nordskov was the replacement. H. Tuomi received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 70 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 6. The Zvezda fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. With the scoreboard showing that 78 minutes had been played, Zvezda nearly put themselves up another goal after L. Nordskov came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. 82 minutes into the game, S. Valentinčič had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came M. Škrbina. H. Tuomi increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 7. L. Rubio López was, after 88 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper K. Yablonskiy made the save. Zvezda claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 80 percent.

Banana's top performer was clearly M. Škrbina. B. Štornik on the other hand, had a terrible day. Zvezda's best player was N. Dubajić. D. Mušič turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 7.
