01-08-2012 12.00
Clear skies welcomed the 42000 spectators who had made their way to
Eupla POst.
Sebas Blanckers was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Robert Hannabuss and
Diego Caffi.
Peti-team had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Fredflod - Leitner, Leiniö - Leal, Von Bischhoffshausen, Moncada, Cortecedo, Thiery - Borda, Blackley, Rubio Góngora.
Hotros started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
Starters: Vidal - Amigó, Bono - Badoux, Haverbusch, Manzanares, Olivé, Gelcem - Carella, Tibau, Lowe.
Peti-team used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
The cannonball from 35 metres by
F. Carella of Hotros was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net.
After 19 minutes, Hotros were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
D. Manzanares did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
Hotros's
D. Badoux managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 21 minutes. 0 - 1.
J. Gelcem could have put his team up another goal 25 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.
P. Amigó was, after 26 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
C. Fredflod made the save.
It was 0 - 1 at the break.
Hotros enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
The visitors almost increased their lead after 49 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar.
The crowd chanted their encouragement as Peti-team's
X. Von Bischhoffshausen came in from the right after 64 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 1 - 1.
After 68 minutes, Hotros's
J. Gelcem made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2.
While defending the Hotros lead,
H. Haverbusch got a new role. 70 minutes in the game, his coach ordered him to change positions with
J. Gelcem.
After 73 minutes of play,
S. Blackley equalised for Peti-team after an elegant attack from the right.
G. Bono would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
C. Brau entered the game for Hotros as the match clock showed 75 minutes.
After 75 minutes, Peti-team's lack of experience resulted in the team's loss of their edge at the end of the game.
The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvellous free kick after 77 minutes, but
C. Fredflod made a beautiful one-handed save.
Hotros took the lead after 80 minutes making the score 2 - 3.
J. Gelcem placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
Possession in this half belonged to Hotros, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
Peti-team's top performer was clearly
D. Borda.
E. Thiery was a disappointment, however.
Most important Hotros player was
F. Carella.
C. Brau on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 3.
