Abriels 0 - 2 Canape
(393617162)

01-08-2012 12.05
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 1149 at
El Pequeño Madrigal today.
Janus Brøndum was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Cornelus de With and
Otto Bonde Nielsen.
Abriels had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: Vendé - Merilaita, Trastulli, Alcaraz - Romero, Nilsson, Forn Pertejo, Tolosa, Martín Losada - Alemparte Gallardo, Fachini.
Canape tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
They fielded: Brás - Flåten, de Armas, Costea, Schwanitz, Macià - Pogány, Ganeroso, van Buren, Utrera - Gyllenstrand.
Canape saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Canape took the lead after 2 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
L. Gyllenstrand placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
With the scoreboard showing that 5 minutes had been played, Canape nearly put themselves up another goal after
I. Macià came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
L. Gyllenstrand was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 14 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
After 29 minutes of game time,
L. Gyllenstrand had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
S. Vendé was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner.
32 minutes into the game, Canape seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
solid level of organisation.
0 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to Abriels, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
During the break, Canape's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
excellent organisation.
62 minutes into the game, Canape seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
solid.
A well placed corner kick from
J. Schwanitz was followed by
S. de Armas's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Canape, the score now 0 - 2.
After 75 minutes, the defensive line of Abriels created a counterattack through the middle that gave
S. Fachini a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
It was obvious that Canape had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
I. Macià after 78 minutes, and prevented Canape from going up another goal.
Abriels claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
Abriels's top performer was clearly
E. Alemparte Gallardo.
However,
F. Trastulli made a disastrous appearance.
Canape's best player was
I. Macià.
A. Brás on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 2.
