It had rained all day, but 1150 hardy fans still made it out to Never walk alone Arena. Louis Fan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thys Vader and Cristi Alexa. Cosmos tried to focus their attacks down the middle. For their match strategy, USTreRe had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Some great play up the middle by Cosmos led to a chance for K. Wuerchoz to score after 3 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Cosmos took the lead 7 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as J. Rougemont elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Cosmos's A. Lopes swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Good work by the USTreRe defensive line after 16 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found T. Dadalt alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. It was a bad day for the usually speedy K. Wuerchoz. The mud seemed to slow him down. A. Lopes should probably have put his team up another goal after 24 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by P. Legrand kept the visitors in the game. After 25 minutes, the defensive line of USTreRe created a counterattack through the middle that gave G. Risi a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Ameen broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Cosmos. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Cosmos claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.

Cheers filled the stadium as K. Mims broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Cosmos. After this, you could see that the players of Cosmos were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. That Cosmos's G. Arneberg has the ability of doing what no one expects him to do was shown as he ran over an opposing defender, snatched the ball and passed to K. Mims who hit it hard into the wide open goal after 56 minutes: 4 - 0! With 70 minutes gone, T. Dadalt suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by USTreRe caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by K. Mims. At last, Cosmos's R. Rönntorp was able to backheel the ball in. 5 - 0. Cosmos's K. Mims saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 81 minutes. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cosmos, with 71 percent of the ball.

B. Frings performed admirably for Cosmos. T. Hartzfeld on the other hand, had a terrible day. USTreRe's top performer was clearly P. Moor. However, M. Eisenhauer made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 0.
