(393619474)

31-07-2012 18.25
The 3267 spectators at
ZankArena were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Martin Balle Larsen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Yamaç Durul and
Luka Hrastar.
Zankenhausen had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
Starters: Gradín - Gasbarro, Aichner, Balcars, Túgvunes - Giroletti, Alicart, Burian, Cohuo, Arnstädt - Giossi.
Geiriljas decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
The following players took the field: Gleditsch - Yngvesson, Sæter, Lindø Westergaard, Aasen - Solheim, Hansen, Hansen, Doksæther, Mikkelsen - Gervasutti.
It wasn't a pretty goal, but the free kick by
D. Aichner after 3 minutes somehow found its way past the keeper. Zankenhausen takes the lead, 1 - 0!
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
G. Giossi found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
Zankenhausen's
B. Túgvunes increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 29 minutes.
The players of Zankenhausen now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
After 35 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Zankenhausen found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
Zankenhausen put themselves up 3 - 0 when
B. Túgvunes broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Zankenhausen, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Zankenhausen was able to get his message across, and raised Zankenhausen's organisation to
solid.
With 57 minutes played, the Geiriljas coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
T. Lorentzen came on,
M. Mikkelsen had to leave the fray.
As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
C. Lindø Westergaard took over the role of being the Geiriljas captain.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
J. Hansen who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
With 64 minutes played, Zankenhausen put themselves up 4 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
F. Giroletti, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Zankenhausen's
F. Giroletti swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
71 minutes in, Geiriljas's
A. Hansen received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Geiriljas's
G. Solheim was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes.
H. Moberg was given a chance to change things around.
After 75 minutes, Geiriljas switched
J. Yngvesson with
H. Abbas, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
M. Doksæther of Geiriljas was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Zankenhausen had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.
Zankenhausen's best player was
G. Giossi.
X. Alicart on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Geiriljas's top performer was clearly
S. Gervasutti.
B. Sæter was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 0.
