previous 6/10 next 8/10  Liverhel 4 - 0 OD57 (393651005)

1009 punters turned up at Liverfield, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Andrea Festa was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kostas Taralidis and John Rislind. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Liverhel. The following players had been chosen: Amieiro - Markevich, Maestre Cozar, Vilalba - Morillo, Bakken, Zogjani, Folgarolas, Sánchez-Arjona - Moreira, Van Hamme.

OD57 had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Soares - Dechant, Adrubau, Buquet - Chávez, Echevarría, Blanckensee, Emerich, Cagnasso - Witbaard, Surowiak.

Liverhel took the lead 9 minutes in, as C. Morillo broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. The home side's F. Vilalba came close to extending the lead 10 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but L. Soares managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Liverhel's N. Moreira startled C. Sánchez-Arjona with an unexpected pass. Unfortunately, the receiver was too stunned by the play to convert the perfect setup into a goal. N. Moreira earned a rousing chorus of cheers from his fans as he seemed to come out of nowhere after 22 minutes to intercept the ball and put it in the back of the net for Liverhel. 2 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Liverhel lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Liverhel's L. Zogjani was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 38 minutes. Liverhel's A. Folgarolas had an excellent opportunity after 40 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Liverhel, with 64 percent of the ball.

57 minutes in, Liverhel's F. Vilalba received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. H. Echevarría received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 64 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Coming from the right, N. Moreira almost managed to score another goal for Liverhel, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Liverhel increased the lead as N. Moreira struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. 79 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as L. Markevich broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Liverhel. Liverhel enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

G. Van Hamme performed admirably for Liverhel. P. Amieiro was a disappointment, however. The most dominating OD57 player was without a doubt P. Blanckensee. E. Witbaard turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
