previous 5/10 next 7/10  Orero 1 - 2 GGW (393671999)

6408 punters turned up at S. Ambrogio, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Georg Lukacs was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Yury Zakutaev and Isak Bergander. Orero started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Lineup: Renzo - Gaioni, Lewskär, Kriska, Maimone - Henriksen, 轩智 (Xuanzhi) , Bolívar, Simon, Barač - Fedeli.

GGW tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. They fielded: Mari Acuña - Span, Pawar, Kosman, Hardy - Yearwood, Pingle, Shah - Facho, Stoten, Fredriksson.

At 2 minutes played, E. Bolívar came in from the right with the intention of giving Orero the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. R. Stoten came close to putting the visiting team one up 8 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but M. Renzo managed to tip the ball to a corner. Orero made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left R. Kriska completely alone with keeper O. Mari Acuña, who made a spectacular block. GGW showed their counterattack skill 11 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with M. Fredriksson scoring uncontested for 0 - 1. S. Simon received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 33 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Orero claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 64 percent.

The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Orero's coach gave N. Elul the opportunity the player had been hoping for. P. Fedeli reluctantly left the field. Due to some great work on the right wing Orero's B. Barač was able to even the score after 66 minutes to make the score 1 - 1. N. Shah of GGW seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 2 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by K. Kosman. GGW's A. Pawar got himself booked for a foul. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Orero, with 64 percent of the ball.

Orero's best player was R. Kriska. On the other hand, G. Maimone's play was disheartening. M. Fredriksson performed admirably for GGW. T. Span was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
