It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 1637 that came out to Barcelò Capella Beach. Omer Nimrodi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Didier Fromant and Vitus Haid. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Barcelò. They fielded: Comellas - Horta, Biarge, Melgarejo, Rubio Rueda - Peláez, de Aragón, Pont Delgado, Villalba, Otero - Camalva.

PesV had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Vill - Obrecht, Agiato, Dideriksen - Castiglioni, Potter, Santiago, Roberto, Mihnea - Janas, Häckler.

G. Janas would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. M. Genovese entered the game for PesV as the match clock showed 1 minutes. PesV's P. Santiago could have put the guests one up after 2 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but K. Comellas was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. PesV took the lead 26 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. B. Roberto was the scorer. Some fine movement on the left led to a PesV goal after 27 minutes, making it 0 - 2. M. Genovese was noted down as the scorer. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by PesV, with 71 percent of the ball.

M. Genovese came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over K. Comellas but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Given a free kick close to the byline, PesV tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let C. Mihnea slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 3, 73 minutes into the game. Barcelò's S. Biarge was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 74 minutes. S. Biarge found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. The visitors nearly scored again after 83 minutes, but a superb save by K. Comellas kept C. Castiglioni's free kick out of the net. After 85 minutes, PesV were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. P. Santiago did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. With 86 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed M. Genovese of PesV to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 4. PesV had most of the ball, with 82 percent of possession.

R. Camalva performed admirably for Barcelò. On the other hand, B. Horta's play was disheartening. Most important PesV player was M. Obrecht. D. Dideriksen turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
