previous 2/10 next 4/10  Spanish 3 - 3 pilloka (393691017)

819 fans braved the pouring rain at Isla de Leon. Hamed Touhami was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Daniel Lundhtorp and Iulian Bogdan. Spanish started off with a 4-3-3 lineup. They fielded: Jericha - Catasús, Ciuffa, Fiori, Vidal - Nikačević, Lucci, Tamayo - Moinier, Mainez, 關山 (Guanshan).

pilloka tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Lupu - Treviño, Virág, Antonsen - Andracchio, Korte, Pastene, Bernal, Bessó - Platas, Kalevo.

Spanish showed off their creative tactics. R. Korte received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 3 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. O. Fiori was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. pilloka's M. Platas gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 8 minutes with a superb strike from the right. pilloka increased their lead after 24 minutes when M. Antonsen broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. After this, you could see that the players of pilloka were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. E. Mainez tried to get a goal back for Spanish but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but A. Bernal showed great heart and had a good game. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to pilloka, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

Spanish supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to F. Lucci who reduced the visitors' lead after 72 minutes to 1 - 2. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 77 minutes played, 江. 關山 (Guanshan) of Spanish made the score 2 - 2. F. Lucci spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. The visiting L. Pastene was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 84 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. The crowd roared in delight as M. Nikačević finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Spanish 85 minutes into the match. 3 - 3. pilloka's M. Kalevo got himself booked for a foul. Unfortunately for Spanish, M. Nikačević was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. T. Smentek replaced him. pilloka enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

Most important Spanish player was F. Moinier. X. Vidal on the other hand, had a terrible day. M. Kalevo performed admirably for pilloka. However, M. Lupu made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 3.
