previous 3/5 next 5/5  Vis 7 - 0 Senjorai (393709577)

The crowd of 1607 turning up at Arena locala today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Paul Balaci was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jani Lehtovaara and Gustavo Ariel Cabezas. Vis tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Wifeldt - Marinaş, Tironi, Rovenţa - Kristoffersen, Lelo, Sveum, Bosman, Kongaa - Medrea, Troncea.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Senjorai. Lineup: Mickas - Grigulis, Kašinas, Šlažikas - Maračauskas, Braziulevičius, Vainonis, Mintautas - Vilkotis, Okonešnikovas, Jurevičius.

After 15 minutes of play, B. Medrea gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. After 16 minutes, Vis raised their score by one when J. Kongaa's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by B. Medrea. 2 - 0. Cheers filled the stadium as S. Troncea broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Vis. By now, the players in Vis felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. With 21 minutes played, J. Kongaa could have brought this one home for Vis as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Vis increased the lead as B. Medrea struck to make the score 4 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. That made three goals for B. Medrea and he was marked down for the hat trick. 4 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Vis, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

B. Lelo had a fantastic opportunity to put Vis up another goal 47 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. With 59 minutes played, Vis's J. Kongaa almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. After 60 minutes, Vis's J. Kongaa fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! 69 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as B. Medrea broke through, making the score 5 - 0 for Vis. The head of J. Kongaa connected with a corner kick after 76 minutes, and the ball ended up with B. Lelo of Vis who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 6 - 0. Vis's S. Troncea struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 7 - 0 after 79 minutes. Vis's B. Lelo was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 80 minutes. Vis enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

Vis's top performer was clearly B. Medrea. However, B. Lelo made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Senjorai player was without a doubt A. Braziulevičius. V. Mickas turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 7 - 0.
