Olmos received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 3 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. El_12_F.C.'s counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing P. Gattuso to score easily from the right flank for 1 - 0. STVV's J. Uphoff was shown a yellow card after 40 minutes for slicing down an opponent. El_12_F.C. were forced into a substitution as J. Carimarí couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing T. Thörnstrand to come in off the bench. 41 minutes into the game, El_12_F.C. seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate. O. Machala's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from P. Mendes's shot from the left 42 minutes into the match. STVV's J. Adriaen was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 43 minutes. El_12_F.C. showed their counterattack skill 44 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with T. Thörnstrand scoring uncontested for 2 - 0. El_12_F.C. put themselves up 3 - 0 when J. Genover broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to STVV, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of El_12_F.C. was able to get his message across, and raised El_12_F.C.'s organisation to solid. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, STVV's P. Mendes was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 49 minutes. S. Oyen was given a chance to change things around. 50 minutes into the game, STVV had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to solid. El_12_F.C.'s Q. Vilarrasa got himself booked for a foul. With 60 minutes played, the STVV coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. B. Fourmont came on, T. Jans had to leave the fray. 65 minutes into the game, El_12_F.C. seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. With 70 minutes played, S. Oyen had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. The referee showed El_12_F.C.'s L. Godin the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 72 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as STVV found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of El_12_F.C. to 4 - 0 as F. Mata finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. 85 minutes in, STVV appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only poor. The heat made it a terrible day for E. Ventose, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players. El_12_F.C. increased the lead as T. Thörnstrand struck to make the score 5 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Confident in their lead, El_12_F.C.'s players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 89 minutes into the game, El_12_F.C. seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

El_12_F.C.'s top performer was clearly T. Thörnstrand. O. Machala turned in a dismal performance, however. J. Uphoff performed admirably for STVV. J. Van den Berghe was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
