ŻORY 4 - 1 Olchovia
(393765447)

01-08-2012 17.50
It had rained all day, but 834 hardy fans still made it out to
CUP ARENA AKS ŻORY.
Henrik Wästerer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gian Luca Santagostino and
Robert Fackelmann.
ŻORY started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Saccomandi - Quintans, Bryk, Ramelow - Maciński, Kardynał, Deyna, Dulczewski, Kosmaty - Barbachanowski, Buzalski.
Olchovia decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Borkiewicz - Misiuk, Sánchez, Łotowski, Poznański - Wyczółkowski, Clemens, Yturbe, Putra - Bumbak, Ferra.
Olchovia will have to do without
W. Clemens for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 13 minute mark. He was substituted by
M. Aydınbozdoğanoğlu.
R. Borkiewicz was the new captain of Olchovia - handed the armband by the departing player.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
R. Barbachanowski, but the ŻORY player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
G. Quintans unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
ŻORY managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when
Ł. Deyna cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
2 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by ŻORY, with 60 percent of the ball.
After 50 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by ŻORY was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options.
The ŻORY free kick 74 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
J. Ramelow, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 3 - 0!
A. Ferra had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today.
Olchovia managed to reduce the score to 3 - 1 as
V. Yturbe finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the defence.
With 81 minutes played,
P. Wyczółkowski of Olchovia fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 82 minutes, ŻORY did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
D. Buzalski was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 4 - 1.
83 minutes into the game, Olchovia's attack got through on the right, but
W. Putra couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms.
ŻORY enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
The most dominating ŻORY player was without a doubt
D. Buzalski.
However,
E. Kosmaty made a disastrous appearance.
Olchovia's top performer was clearly
M. Aydınbozdoğanoğlu.
T. Misiuk was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 1.
