previous 2/10 next 4/10  PersPolice 0 - 5 liangshampo (393791288)

479 spectators arrived at Rasht Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Viggo Agle was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Henrik Tullsten and Ivar van Stigt. A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for PersPolice. They fielded: Brunello - Laudani, Popa-Jensen, Chaharkhatti, Davril, Chiţa - Wieczorkowski, Arjmand, Esmizadeh, Razzaghi - Shakibaei.

liangshampo had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. Lineup: Novotný - Trichidis, Alcántara, Khorshidi, Partio - Orzołek, Mészáros, Ariagno - Bălţatu, Sadzikowski, Rolland.

Today, PersPolice's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Pressing was the tactic of the day for liangshampo. 9 minutes into the game, P. Orzołek was a hair's breadth away from giving liangshampo the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by A. Brunello saved the home team that time. After 21 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as liangshampo found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. D. Chiţa received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 21 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. 29 minutes into the game, liangshampo seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organisation. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of liangshampo's M. Sadzikowski after 36 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. With 39 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed W. Rolland of liangshampo to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. The home crowd was not impressed when N. Bălţatu came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 41 minutes. liangshampo were now up 0 - 3. Halftime score was 0 - 3. liangshampo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

A review of the gameplan helped liangshampo get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. The bench was restless, and with 48 minutes passed PersPolice's coach gave M. Clinton the opportunity the player had been hoping for. K. Chaharkhatti reluctantly left the field. The home keeper was stunned 55 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by M. Sadzikowski and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 4. At this point, it was obvious that the players of liangshampo lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With 59 minutes played, the PersPolice coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. G. Painceiras came on, B. Esmizadeh had to leave the fray. The PersPolice captaincy was handed to M. Clinton. After 62 minutes, PersPolice used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. 62 minutes into the game, liangshampo had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. PersPolice's I. Wieczorkowski had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 78 minutes having been played. M. Philippe was the replacement. After 80 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave N. Bălţatu a chance to increase the lead for liangshampo, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 5. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave W. Rolland from liangshampo a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 81 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! liangshampo pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. 88 minutes in, liangshampo appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. liangshampo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.

PersPolice's best player was S. Shakibaei. However, A. Popa-Jensen made a disastrous appearance. liangshampo's top performer was clearly W. Rolland. P. Orzołek turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 5.
