Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 4129 at Hell's Kitchen Arena today. Juan Engelage was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mario Menichetti and José Luís Proença. Brunohias started off with a 5-2-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Böhlendorff - Haeseler, Nunez de Gosau, Zintl, Furth, Gelfort - Wedershoven, Eckmüller - Laudehr, Panicker, Fuernsinn.

The incalculable N. Gelfort of Brunohias did everything right as he set up S. Eckmüller for a goal after 28 minutes. Unfortunately, the strike missed its target. F. Vratanar couldn't do anything to stop the technically gifted S. Laudehr as he dodged past on his way to scoring a wonderful goal for Brunohias - 1 - 0! E. Zintl behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 37 minutes as he gave the ball away to M. Tot. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Brunohias increased the lead as L. Panicker struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Maribor claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

With 55 minutes played, J. Vezonik had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 64 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving J. Vezonik completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper. The visitors got one back when Ð. Jović finished off a pass from the left and scored after 68 minutes. 2 - 1 was the score. Possession in this half belonged to Maribor, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Brunohias's top performer was clearly L. Panicker. R. Böhlendorff was a disappointment, however. Maribor's best player was Ð. Jović. F. Vratanar on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.
