3188 spectators had come to
Monster Park this cloudy day.
Flavien Manchon was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andrea Spagnolli and
Raimo Närvänen.
Olympique tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
They fielded: Merčep - Fontalquer, Lourenço - Rousselle, Panzacchi, Deschamps, Pallini, Tzvetanov - Arjmandpour, Gradwohl, Kupfer.
Peksupoisid started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Pärn - Cavia, Resnati, Cleverhof, Daniëls, Arturo - Knölwald, Lundblom, Delfgauw - Kütt, Obrenović.
Peksupoisid were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
They were singing the praises of
S. Rousselle 4 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Olympique.
A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by
S. Rousselle. At last, Olympique's
K. Arjmandpour was able to backheel the ball in. 2 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of Olympique were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
The home side's
G. Panzacchi came close to extending the lead 28 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
R. Pärn managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
Good work by the Peksupoisid defensive line after 29 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
B. Obrenović alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
F. Daniëls got himself booked. The manager of Peksupoisid was not happy.
K. Arjmandpour increased the lead for Olympique to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
The referee showed Olympique's
B. Tzvetanov the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Peksupoisid's
A. Resnati went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention.
L. Fontalquer really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by
B. Tzvetanov after a corner.
Olympique's
J. Lourenço had an excellent opportunity after 39 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
Cheers filled the stadium as
A. Kupfer broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Olympique.
4 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Olympique enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 86 percent of possession.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Olympique tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
K. Arjmandpour slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 5 - 0, 53 minutes into the game.
By then
K. Arjmandpour had scored three goals - a hat trick!
The game was close to savage at times, and Olympique's
B. Tzvetanov received a second yellow card after 58 minutes; his ticket out of the game.
Olympique's
S. Rousselle was shown a yellow card after 74 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Olympique coach let
V. Oseolo replace
M. Pallini after 75 minutes.
Unfortunately for Peksupoisid,
H. Knölwald was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
K. Velt replaced him.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
S. Rousselle squirmed through their central defence after 82 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 0.
Olympique solidified their lead at the 84 minute mark, as
K. Arjmandpour dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 7 - 0.
Olympique's
K. Arjmandpour swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
Peksupoisid earned themselves a free kick after a counterattack wasn't dealt with adequately by their opponents.
D. Delfgauw powered the shot in for 7 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Olympique, with 91 percent of the ball.
Most important Olympique player was
V. Oseolo.
J. Lourenço turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Peksupoisid player was without a doubt
K. Kütt.
D. Delfgauw on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 7 - 1.
