H. Loebel, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. Many thought F. Reigsecker ought to have been awarded a penalty 16 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Š. Hradec after a determined run through the middle. M. Brücker of Sauerkraut received a yellow card after 18 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Sauerkraut took the lead after O. Stoff curved a free kick into the net. 0 - 1 With things not going too well on the field, the Muchachos coach made the decision to swap the positions of P. Nonnis and C. Fonte with 23 minutes played. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 29 minutes, Sauerkraut tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit S. Nicolas just fine. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Muchachos had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

O. Stoff wanted to play on, but the Sauerkraut coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by M. Udl. A counterattack by Muchachos after 76 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but F. Haga, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Muchachos, with 63 percent of the ball.

Most important Muchachos player was I. Zaal. C. Fonte was a disappointment, however. Sauerkraut's best player was Š. Hradec. M. Udl turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 1.
