Pereira came close to levelling the score 36 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. 39 minutes in, laU's H. Matyasik received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. laU enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.

After 46 minutes, Interim felt secure enough to make a tactical change. V. van Etten and H. Mont assumed each others positions on the field. Content with how the game was proceeding, the laU coach let S. Dayan replace A. Cantero after 60 minutes. A. Pereira wanted to play on, but the laU coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 70 minutes into the game by P. Sampedro. Given a free kick close to the byline, laU tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let S. Dayan slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 3, 72 minutes into the game. While defending the laU lead, E. Di Renzo got a new role. 75 minutes in the game, his coach ordered him to change positions with E. Cappadoro. The coach of laU was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 75 minutes, R. Portales came on for K. Dolaraga. The referee showed Interim's V. van Etten the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 80 minutes played, the Interim coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. I. Frencken came on, A. Brito had to leave the fray. Possession in this half belonged to laU, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.

Most important Interim player was S. Hermus. I. van Aemstel turned in a dismal performance, however. P. Campuzano performed admirably for laU. N. Chavarro was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
