Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 16 minutes, FUTEBOL did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, I. Dalles was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 0. The referee showed FUTEBOL's L. Roscio the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. FUTEBOL's I. Dalles increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 27 minutes. A bit later, Fiat's F. Gralla easily reduced the lead to 3 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to FUTEBOL, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

FUTEBOL put in a good effort on the right, but J. Pescoço saw his volley fly wide of the mark 65 minutes into the game. The suddenness of the FUTEBOL's K. Cosemans's pass to J. Nakano after 68 minutes caught the opposition wrong-footed, and they could only watch as the ball sailed home for 4 - 1. By now, the players in FUTEBOL felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. FUTEBOL increased the lead as J.
