Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 829 at Wilgar Park today. Hieronim Czachowski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Malik Al-Ahmed and Lassi Åkerblom. Dundela had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. Lineup: Birtwistle - Dominique, Maier, Ingemann, Weidentrift, Tonhão - Ryan, Dunne, Schmorl, Durgahee - Garrido Hervás.

Blondes tactics involved an interesting 3-5-1 combination. They fielded: Troost - Brouwer, Bettinger, Voorhoeve - Jutte, Briët, Wiebenga, Hagens, Rotgans - van Baar.

Dundela clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Blondes's R. Wiebenga after 10 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. Some fine movement on the left led to a Blondes goal after 17 minutes, making it 0 - 2. R. Wiebenga was noted down as the scorer. After 35 minutes Blondes's V. Voorhoeve had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. D. Volkerink came in to replace him. 38 minutes into the game, Blondes seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. After 39 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave D. Volkerink a chance to increase the lead for Blondes, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. The players of Blondes now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Some things can only be learned through experience, and A. Durgahee should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Blondes a goal with 41 minutes of the match played. With 43 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed L. Brouwer of Blondes to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 4. 0 - 4 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Blondes, with 70 percent of the ball.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Blondes was able to get his message across, and raised Blondes's organisation to solid. With 50 minutes gone, R. Ryan suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Dundela caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. A. Durgahee did everything he could to get one back for his Dundela, but keeper W. Troost denied him with a spectacular block. A drive down the left side allowed L. Rotgans to get in close and score another goal for Blondes after 81 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave R. Ryan from Dundela a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 82 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Due to a severely mistimed tackle, W. Troost of Blondes spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. 86 minutes into the game, Blondes had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. Possession in this half belonged to Blondes, who controlled the ball 75 percent of the time.

S. Garrido Hervás performed admirably for Dundela. O. Dominique on the other hand, had a terrible day. Blondes's top performer was clearly R. Wiebenga. H. Briët turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 5.
