previous 2/10 next 4/10  Cene 2 - 5 rosseneroac (393902367)

Clear skies welcomed the 1654 spectators who had made their way to Maréna Aréna. Lars Larsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Théo Gaude and Alberto Mantovan. Cene started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: Pinke - Eleuteri, Vigni, Guilherme, Zdravković - Savićević, Camacho, Smith, Contreiras - Kijek, Duraković.

rosseneroac tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. The following players took the field: Holguín - Mahns, Hilboezen, Vantornout, Klitoridis - Naeyaert, Van Quickenborne, Bolsens - Ibn-Amal, Jakab, Schmettau.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Cene. rosseneroac used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, V. Savićević scored for Cene putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 7 minutes. The visitors didn't give in and, after 11 minutes, A. Ibn-Amal got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 1 - 1. L. Vigni got left behind when rosseneroac's F. Schmettau made a sudden run forward after 18 minutes, finishing off with a neat strike. 1 - 2! With 22 minutes played, V. Mahns nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Cene almost scored after a counterattack 23 minutes into the match, but J. Guilherme took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. J. Contreiras was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by D. Zdravković, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. With the scoreboard showing that 37 minutes had been played, rosseneroac nearly put themselves up another goal after M. Klitoridis came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. With 41 minutes played, Cene's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to V. Kijek he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 2. Cene created a good opportunity to score 43 minutes into the match when D. Zdravković's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. 2 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cene, with 52 percent of the ball.

rosseneroac players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. After 60 minutes, the rosseneroac coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving L. Van Quickenborne off the field. O. Jeanfils took his place. There was concern in the stands when, at the 67 minute mark, Cene's J. Guilherme hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. 69 minutes into the game, rosseneroac wanted to bring some new energy to their game. L. Naeyaert gave C. Verbanck a quick hug as he left the field. After 71 minutes, rosseneroac put themselves up 2 - 3, as D. Bolsens finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. D. Bolsens wanted to play on, but the rosseneroac coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 73 minutes into the game by V. Williams. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Schmettau from rosseneroac a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 79 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! 80 minutes into the game, K. Camacho came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. rosseneroac's C. Verbanck got himself booked for a foul. In a rapid move 83 minutes into the match, F. Schmettau of rosseneroac lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked Á. Jakab who easily hit it home to make it 2 - 4. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy! With 84 minutes played, rosseneroac put themselves up 2 - 5 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was A. Ibn-Amal. After this, you could see that the players of rosseneroac were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Possession in this half belonged to rosseneroac, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

Most important Cene player was Z. Duraković. However, J. Guilherme made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating rosseneroac player was without a doubt A. Ibn-Amal. F. Schmettau turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 5.
